Building on Part II, the third session of the Special Education 101 four-part track covers IDEA FAPE requirements from a substantive standpoint. Through real-life case examples and illustrations, attendees will grasp the essentials of IEP content requirements, the IDEA’s Rowley standard for educational benefit and appropriate placement in the least restrictive environment. Other FAPE-related issues covered will include assistive technology and other related services, disciplinary removals, the provision of postsecondary transition services and extended school year programming.
