In Part I, we will focus on recent cases and guidance for an advanced discussion of the requirements for substantive FAPE under the IDEA. The highlighted decisions will be complex cases at the administrative and appellate level interpreting the requirements for compliant assessments, placement, services and discipline. This session will also address navigating unilateral private placements and requests for private school tuition reimbursement. The experienced practitioner will leave this session with a tool and tips on how to ensure solid assessments and programming to stave off disagreements and FAPE disputes.
