Schools are increasingly confronted with the challenge of what to do when faced with inappropriate sexual behavior at school by students across all age ranges. This is particularly complicated when the student(s) involved are students with a disability. How do you navigate the waters of student safety while also fulfilling your legal obligations? During this presentation you will receive valuable information about programmatic considerations and steps we can take to address these behaviors and ensure student safety at school. Learn about the legal requirements and obligations to these students under the IDEA, Section 504, and Title IX, including tips learned from recent case law. We will also share best practices in conducting investigations of these incidents, and the importance of using trauma-informed practices when handling these issues.
